UBC Data Bites: Creating a Data Management Plan (DMP) (online) Online
Non-UBC attendees welcome!
This practical workshop, delivered by the UBC Library Research Data Management team, introduces the purpose and process of creating effective Data Management Plans (DMPs) to support responsible and organized research. Designed for graduate students, researchers, and staff, the session aligns with Tri-Agency and institutional requirements for data management.
Participants will learn how to:
- Understand the key components of a DMP and why it's important at all stages of research
- Use the DMP Assistant tool to create, edit, and manage data management plans
- Apply best practices for planning data storage, sharing, preservation, and ethical considerations throughout the research lifecycle
